ots to talk about so I thought it was high time I started a blog - so here it is!

I I will be sharing some of my favourite fashion items, beauty hair and makeup ideas and great style tips as and when I find them.

Also, I am on a bit of a fitness kick at the moment so I will probably also share any awesome work out gear I come across.

By the way, when I say I am into fitness, it is probably more the idea of getting fit than actually doing too much about it. I love swimming though so at least that will be a start.

Healthy eating is of course also on the menu - with some noteable exeptions like Lindt strawberry chocolates!!!

fGot them from the Fiebiger online shop for only $40!

Definitely gone for style here - not comfort - but oh so lovely. They have many fab colours but only limited sizes left so hurry if you want to grab yours.

Now to find the ultimate little pink dress to go with them for the big night out next Saturday.

No dancing required, thank goodness, just fab food and probably too many drinks at Darling Harbour with the gals.

Probably team with silver bling with a hint of pink - maybe even a little silver mesh clutch - more shopping.

Myth 1: Once varicose or spider veins have been repaired, they will always reoccur?

I read this on Get Beauty - who'd have thought?

Varicose veins are veins that have widened and twisted, becoming knobbly and dark blue in appearance. Most commonly, varicose veins appear on the legs and form when valves within the vein become faulty allowing blood to pool in the vein.

Spider veins are small varicose veins that appear closer to the skins surface. Often red or blue in colour, spider veins appear mainly on the legs and look similar to spider webs or branches.

These problematic veins generally affect women more than men and often after pregnancy. The major risk factor for both men and women developing varicose veins is a family history.

Other factors may also increase an individual's risk of developing varicose or spider veins including prolonged standing, being overweight, or being on the Pill.

Treatment of varicose and spider veins is not just for cosmetic reasons, as if left untreated the condition can lead to health issues such as: blood clots, venous eczema, skin ulceration.

Both types of veins can be treated by sclerotherapy, where irritant chemicals are injected into the vein causing it to spasm and collapse on itself. Eventually the collapsed walls of the vein will heal together so the vein can no longer carry blood. Bigger veins can also be treated by laser therapy (not the same as skin laser) which can be done in a clinic. Surgery in Australia is decreasing in popularity as the newer treatments are seen as less aggressive and don't require a hospital stay.

Those who suffer from varicose vein disease have a predisposition to developing varicose veins and spider veins, so unfortunately they will always be predisposed to having varicose veins. However, once a varicose vein has been treated correctly it does not return in less than 95% of cases. It is possible for new veins to form but these are not usually from the treated sites. Spider veins are usually more difficult to treat and will require \"maintenance\" session every 2-3 years.

LOOK great on the way to the gym and FEEL great while you're there: Articfit say their compression tights abolish pain during excercise.

We imagine ourselves walking out to our car, looking firm and fit in tights and sneakers holding a water bottle and a towel.

Upon arriving to the gym, greet the receptionist by her first name, listen to energising music, take a spin class or perhaps Pilates.

So 'wear empowered' and get fit with your mind at ease, knowing that the only after-effect from exercise you'll be having, is that incredible euphoric rush of endorphins being released.

Other factors may also increase an individual's risk of developing varicose or spider veins including prolonged standing, being overweight, or being on the Pill.

Treatment of varicose and spider veins is not just for cosmetic reasons, as if left untreated the condition can lead to health issues such as: blood clots, venous eczema, skin ulceration.

According to Dr Huy Tang, Cosmetic Surgeon at Australia's largest cosmetic surgery provider, The Cosmetic Institute, despite being the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure on the planet, there are still many myths surrounding breast augmentation, particularly when it comes to pregnancy and a woman's ability to breastfeed following the procedure.

\"It's a common misconception that once a woman has breast implants, she can't breastfeed, but the fact is, I've operated on many women who have gone on to successfully breastfeed their babies, with no negative affects. That said, every woman is different and it's important that patients are clear about the facts before they decide for or against breastfeeding their baby following a breast augmentation,\" he says.

Dr Tang is one of a team of surgeons that operates on some 5,000 breast implant patients each year across The Cosmetic Institute's two Sydney clinics. Here, he addresses a list of the most common questions concerning breastfeeding after breast augmentation:

Is breastfeeding likely to change the shape of an augmented breast?

\"It is impossible to predict the change in augmented breasts after breastfeeding,\" says Dr Tang. \"As a rule, women with smaller breasts would generally expect less change to occur when breastfeeding, compared to those with larger breasts,\" he adds. According to Dr Tang, in both natural and augmented breasts, genetic factors such as skin quality and elasticity are the major factors that influence whether breast shape is likely to change.

How much time after breast augmentation should a woman wait to fall pregnant or wait to breast feed her children?

\"We normally recommend six to 12 months post-op to allow the augmented breast to completely settle before falling pregnant,\" says Dr Tang, who recommends visiting forums and talking to other women who have breast fed post operatively. \"Recovery time can vary from patient to patient so it is important that you're prepared to be flexible should recovery take a little longer than anticipated,\" he says.

Does breast augmentation affect a mother's milk supply?

According to Dr Tang, breast augmentation will not affect a mother's milk supply. \"As long as you are being operated on by a reputable surgeon and there has been no damage to the milk ducts or nerves during surgery, there will be no affect on your milk supply,\" assures Dr Tang. \"Some women find it very difficult to breastfeed and a woman can have a poor milk supply regardless of whether they have implants or not, it's rarely the implants or surgery that hinders the supply of milk,\" he says.

Are there are any dangers associated with breastfeeding after breast augmentation? Either for the mother or the baby?

A common fear among women is that their implants may \"leak\" and be toxic for a breastfeeding baby, however Dr Tang provides assurance that there are no known dangers to either the mother or baby when breastfeeding with implants.

\"The implants we use at The Cosmetic Institute are the best in the world and are made of a gel substance that remains within a solid membrane and does not \"leak\" into the body, even in the rare case of a rupture. \"The chances of an implant leaking or rupturing are exceptionally low, however in the rare case that this did occur, there would be no harm to the mother or baby in terms of toxicity,\" says Dr Tang. Having said that, Dr Tang warns that it is crucial to find out what implants your surgeon will be using and whether the materials are safe should a rupture occur.

Will augmented breasts tend to be more sensitive/painful when breastfeeding when compared to non-augmented breasts?

When it comes to sensitivity, it is possible that an implant could cause feelings of slight discomfort in the breast. \"It's not always the case, but the added weight and volume of the implant can result in increased sensitivity,\" advises Dr Tang. \"Breasts generally become more sensitive during pregnancy and the added volume from implants could increase this sensitivity,\" he adds.

Are augmented breasts MORE likely to sag or change shape after pregnancy and breastfeeding than non-augmented breasts?

Doctor Tang stresses that while the implants remain unchanged with pregnancy and breast-feeding, the tissue surrounding them may change shape. \"Regardless of whether a woman has implants, her breast shape can change during or post pregnancy based on factors including genetics, age and skin quality,\" says Dr Tang.

\"Since there's no sure way to tell whether a breast will or won't sag following pregnancy and breastfeeding, if a patient is concerned about this and considering having children in the not too distant future, I will generally advise them to delay their augmentation. Post pregnancy and breast feeding, we can ensure that all breast changes are taken into account before deciding on the size and type of implant that should be used,\" he says.

Do the math

Measurements are only a starting point, but a necessary one!

Using a tape measure, measure your under-bust. Ensure the tape measure follows a horizontal line around your body, exactly beneath your implants. The tape should sit against your skin, all the way around, no gaps!

Note down your measurements in centimeters and find your body size on the ‘bras n things’ table above.

Once you have found your body size, measure across the fullest part of your breasts implants and around. Using the bra size calculator, search down from your body size to find your measurement.

Voila!

Now, it’s important not to get too excited. After all, it’s all about shape and comfort of the bra. Measurements are only an initial sizing guide. Once your implants have fully healed, we recommend visiting a professional at bras n things to get fitted.

Know your implants

Knowing the size of your implants will help to determine your new cup size.

Breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters (ccs). 175-200ccs is the equivalent to one-cup size increase.

The specialised cosmetic nurse explains her reasoning behind Trusted Surgeons.

“I have experienced both the positive and negative outcomes of plastic surgery procedures. Unfortunately, majority of the negative outcomes and experiences are easily avoidable through patient awareness and education.”

She adds that the effects of a negative outcome can be devastating for patients, physically, financially and psychologically, Trusted Surgeons was started as a platform to help educate and raise awareness in the industry to reduce these outcomes.

The Australian online platform wishes to promote quality, transparency and expertise to help achieve positive outcomes for patients, and to promote qualified and experienced plastic surgeons. As Montgomery explains “many of the incidents in the media are preventable” and she adds that Trusted Surgeons is a non-bias database to inform and support potential patients to help avoid such incidents.

Montgomery wants to ensure that Trusted Surgeons helps patients achieve the best possible outcome, as it is exceptionally rewarding to witness patients as they flourish throughout their transformation. She also provides some inside information into the industry by predicting that the next trend in plastic surgery will be the Brazilian butt lift as she laughed “Dare I say it, everyone wants a Kardashian butt.”
